4. Usage and operation instructionsΒΆ

During the whole execution lifespan, SFTPPlus Client will emit a series of predefined events.

By default, it will log this events in the message.log file located inside installation root folder. On Windows, the events are also sent to Windows events logger.

Each event has a unique level and events can be filteres or routed to different destinations based on log level. For more details, please consult the message.conf file located inside installation root folder.

At the end of a day, message.log file is automatically rotated. The content is stored inside archive folder as message.log.YYYMMMDD and message.log is replaced with an empty file.

On Unix system you can monitor the log file using the tail command

For Windows, you can use the Tail for Win32. It monitor changes to files displaying the changed lines in realtime. It can be downloaded from http://tailforwin32.sourceforge.net/.
