We're announcing the release of SFTPPlus 5.25.0, featuring significant security enhancements, expanded cloud capabilities, and important reliability improvements. This update strengthens your managed file transfer infrastructure with better access controls, improved integrations, and enhanced data protection.

Secure file transfer

Enhanced Security & Access Control

Your data security is our top priority. SFTPPlus 5.25.0 introduces several important security enhancements:

  • Granular Access Control: Web Manager now enforces role-based permissions for reports and activity logs, giving you finer-grained control over what administrators can access. This ensures sensitive audit data is only available to authorized personnel.
  • IP Filtering in Security Policies: Protect your system from unauthorized access with new source IP filtering rules. You can now allow or deny traffic from specific IP addresses or CIDR ranges directly in your security policies.
  • Enhanced TLS Security: The FTPS and HTTPS servers now let you configure TLS session reuse duration, automatically closing connections after a set period to enforce fresh TLS handshakes and strengthen your encryption posture.

Expanded Cloud & Integration Features

SFTPPlus 5.25.0 makes it easier to work with your cloud infrastructure:

  • Larger SharePoint Transfers: Upload files up to 250 GB to SharePoint Online without limitations. This enhancement is perfect for organizations managing large datasets.
  • Flexible Cloud Group Mapping: Entra ID, Google Cloud, and Okta groups can now be automatically mapped to SFTPPlus groups using cloud group names or IDs. No more manual synchronization between your identity provider and SFTPPlus.
  • ARM64 Container Support: Run SFTPPlus on modern ARM-based infrastructure. Pre-built Ubuntu 26.04 Linux ARM64 container images are now available, expanding your deployment options.

Account & Data Lifecycle Management

  • Automatic Home Folder Cleanup: Automatically remove and disable expired accounts, with a configurable grace period. Keep your system clean and compliant with minimal manual intervention.

Improved Reliability & Performance

  • FTP/FTPS Auto-Retry: Authentication failures on FTP/FTPS locations now automatically retry instead of stopping the connection.
  • Better PASV Support: Enhanced multi-line PASV command handling for more reliable FTP operations across different server implementations.
  • Robust Proxy Protocol Support: Proxy Protocol v2 now accepts and extracts TLV extensions, providing better visibility into connection details.
  • SharePoint Error Handling: Improved error handling when SharePoint Online rejects file uploads, preventing unexpected server errors.
  • OIDC Improvements: Better proxy handling in OAuth token configurations ensures extensions receive proper proxy settings.
  • Home Folder Protection: User accounts can no longer delete or modify their own home folders, preventing accidental data loss.
