Web Manager improvements
SFTPPlus 5.18.0 introduces a significantly improved Web Manager experience.
- You can now browse and select filesystem paths directly from the interface when configuring source, destination, or archive locations for transfers.
- A new test capability lets you validate configuration changes for protocols, locations, and resources before committing them, reducing the risk of disruption.
- Cloud and network storage support was extended: both SMB and Azure File locations can now list available shares, simplifying setup in heterogeneous environments.
Oracle Database file transfers
- This release adds the oracle-db location, enabling file-style transfers where content is stored as rows inside Oracle Database tables.
Client-shell command line tool enhancements
- The client-shell command line tool can load location definitions directly from the main configuration file for easier scripting.
- The interactive client-shell CLI now supports in-line editing and a session command history.
Security and Reliability Fixes
- A defect affecting the security policy that blocks source IPs after multiple authentication failures was corrected, restoring the intended protection behavior.
- A defect was fixed for SSH key exchange process: RSA host keys signed with SHA256 or SHA512 now work correctly with a broad set of modern diffie-hellman-group* and diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256 key exchange algorithms. Previously, these combinations could fail with packet length or invalid signature errors due to inadvertent SHA1 usage.
- You can define multiple security policies and assign them to different file transfer protocols, allowing granular control over access behavior.
- Source IPs can be blocked immediately on connection, not only during authentication, and blocked IPs are now visible and manageable from the Web Manager.
